Wright State, Miami University both offer Trotwood’s Torrey Patton

Less than three weeks ago, Trotwood-Madison guard Torrey Patton was without a Division I basketball offer.

Now the senior has multiple options for continuing his hoops career, including two close to home.

Patton tweeted Wednesday afternoon he has received an offer from Wright State.

After scoring 34 points in the Rams’ state semifinal loss to Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary on March 23, he said he was getting close to deciding between West Virginia State (NCAA Division II) and Lourdes College (NAIA) – unless more schools entered the picture.

Akron became the first Division I school to offer with Duquesne doing so soon after (the same night Zips coach Keith Dambrot left the former job for the latter).

Patton was the Ohio Division II co-Player of the Year.

The spring signing period for basketball players began Wednesday and lasts until May 17.

Miami already announced signing Jalen Adaway, a guard from Indiana.
