About Wright State: The Raiders have come up empty in their two games but could have won both. In an 84-80 loss at Loyola, they cut a nine-point deficit with 1:11 to go to two with 26 seconds left but fell short. In a 73-67 overtime defeat at Miami, they led by eight with just under four minutes to go in regulation but let it slip away. … The Raiders pulled out a 77-62 road win against Murray State last year in one of their best performances of the season. … Everett Winchester, a 6-6 redshirt freshman forward, is averaging 12.5 points off the bench in two games and was named Horizon League freshman of the week after scoring 15 in the opener. … Ball-handling has been an issue. The Raiders have 37 turnovers and 28 assists, while their opponents have 29 turnovers and 32 assists. … Love is averaging a team-best 7.0 rebounds, Wilburn 5.5.

About Murray State: The Racers were picked third in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll behind favorite Belmont and Jacksonville State. They have the preseason player of the year in Stark, who was first in the league and 13th nationally with an average of 21.9 points last year. He made 108 three-pointers while connecting at a 42.5-percent clip. … Miller also made the preseason all-conference team after averaging 16 points and 8.2 rebounds last year. … The Racers have gone 16-17 and 17-14 the last two seasons, but they were a dominant mid-major program before that. They averaged 26.3 wins over the previous six seasons. They're coming off a 72-67 home loss to Middle Tennessee State, but they're shooting 55.4 percent from the field and 41.0 on 3-pointers.

Coming up: The Raiders play Division III Tiffin at 7 p.m. Monday to kick off the second annual Wright State Tournament. They play three games at the Nutter Center next weekend: Gardner-Webb on Friday, Jacksonville on Saturday and Fairfield on Sunday.
