With Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and supporting commercial and university aerospace production, research and development capability already in place, Dayton leaders are hoping the state will be among those the FAA selects. Even if Ohio should be bypassed, its existing aerospace capabilities should help it build long-lasting relationships with the FAA, Air Force and NASA, Ohio's advocates said.
