A storm system moving out of the Central Plains will link up with the front, forcing it back northward across our area Wednesday night.
This will allow for numerous showers and thunderstorms to develop across the Miami Valley likely after dark Wednesday with rain lingering into Thursday.
The storm system will be potent and could allow for an isolated strong to perhaps severe storm to develop early Wednesday night.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of the Miami Valley from Dayton - southwest - under a “marginal risk” for severe storms late Wednesday.
The primary concern will be from brief strong winds and some potential for locally heavy rainfall. The rain will linger into Thursday before tapering off Thursday evening.
Rainfall amounts could exceed 1 to 2 inches before tapering off Thursday night.
Much cooler air is also expected to move in behind the front with temperatures falling into the 50s for highs by the end of the week.
