Rain, storms to continue overnight

  • Rain, thunderstorms continue overnight
  • Locally heavy rain likely through Thursday
  • Windy, cooler conditions late Thursday

Widespread rain and embedded thunderstorms continue to push north and east through the Miami Valley, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini. Rain will fall especially through the early morning.

Thursday: Roads will be wet for the morning commute, even where rain isn’t actively falling. A lull will develop for some around lunch, and more rain and storms will push in for the afternoon and evening. Expect the evening commute to be wet. The severe threat is low overall, but an isolated strong storm will be possible with winds being the main threat.

Ponding on roads and some minor flooding in spots will be possible with several rounds of rain expected to continue today and tonight.

Friday: It will be breezy and much cooler under mostly cloudy skies. Highs will hold in the middle 50s.

Saturday: Some patchy frost may start the day north and east of Dayton with temperatures in the upper 30s. Skies will be partly cloudy through the day with highs holding in the middle 50s.

Sunday: Expect sunny skies and more seasonable temperatures to end the weekend. Highs will be back in the middle 60s.

Monday: Mostly sunny skies will start the week with breezy conditions developing. Highs will hold in the middle 60s.
