Kasich names new commerce director

Ohio Gov. John Kasich named Jacqueline T. Williams as the new director of the state Department of Commerce.

Williams currently heads the minority business development division within the Ohio Development Services Agency.

Williams previously led the Ohio Liquor Control Commission and the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority and served as chief administrative officer for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation. She starts her new post April 11.

Williams replaces Andre T. Porter, who moved on to be chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
