RNC Day 1: Donald Trump's motorcade in accident; celebs take the stage

A car carrying staff from the Trump campaign was in a minor accident in New York. The car was part of Trump's motorcade to LaGuardia Airport. Trump's vehicle was not involved in the accident and no injuries were suffered .

Speakers scheduled for tonight lean toward the celebrity side and include:

  • Willie Robertson of reality TV show "Duck Dynasty."
  • Former Texas Governor Rick Perry.
  • Marcus Luttrell, former Navy Seal, author of "Lone Survivor," best-selling book made into blockbuster movie starring Mark Wahlberg.
  • Scott Baio, former Happy Days and reality TV star.
  • Video and speeches about 2012 Benghazi diplomatic compound attack from security team members.
  • Antonio Sabato, Jr., actor and model.
  • Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
  • Melania Trump, wife of Donald Trump.
  • Retired Lt. General Michael Flynn, former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The delegates that pulled their names at the last moment to stop a roll call vote were from Maine, Minnesota and the District of Columbia . Never Trump backers had the signatures needed, but Trump supporters circulated a form to allow delegates to remove their names.
