It’s just a toy, but for a group of animal rights activists, there is nothing amusing about kids playing with a a livestock truck sold by Walmart.
Referring to it as a "toy slaughter truck," a vegan activist from Toronto started an online petition on Change.org, asking the CEO of Walmart to stop selling the item. The petition states, "Normalizing the enslavement and murder of animals to kids is not OK."
The petition was seeking 10,000 supporters and has generated over 8,000 supporters in three days.
Critics were quick to point out that livestock trucks are used for many purposes on the farm, not just to transport animals to slaughter.
Seriously, Walmart?
