Beavercreek firm awarded $15.5M contract

The U.S. Air Force has awarded a Beavercreek firm a contract for C-17 work.

U.S. Aeroteam Inc. is being awarded a $15,477,850 firm fixed price contract for C-17 airplane engine ground transport trailers, the Department of Defense announced. The work will be performed locally by July 30, 2013, the DoD said. The contracting activity is at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.

Last year, the Air Force said that the 445th Airlift Wing at Wright-Patterson, an Air Force Reserve Command unit, is transitioning from flying and maintaining the C-5 Galaxy to the newer C-17 aircraft. The wing has nine C-17 Globemaster III airplanes.
