The CEO of CareSource was presented with an honorary key to the city of Dayton Tuesday morning.

Pamela Morris is retiring from her role as chief executive of the nonprofit insurer, which manages Medicaid plans, and was recognized for her contributions to the city at her last all staff meeting for her work by Mayor Nan Whaley and City Manager Shelley Dickstein.

Morris built present-day CareSource — with a 2017 revenue of $8.8 billion and 4,000 employees — up from its start in 1989 as the 38-employee Dayton Area Health Plan.
