Costco drops menu favorite from food court

Costco lovers are going to miss a classic menu item from its store food courts.

The Polish hot dog is being dropped from Costco's menu, The Seattle Times reported. The original all-beef hot dog combo — a hot dog and drink for $1.50 — will stay on the menu, according to the warehouse retailer. More than 137 million hot dog combos were sold last year.

The food court is known for its cheap foods, including ice cream, gelato, churros, pizza, salads, sandwiches and even acai bowls in some locations. Costco has locations in Centerville, Springdale and Deerfield Twp.

Costco currently operates 520 warehouses in the U.S. For the first 39 weeks of fiscal 2018, the company reported net sales of about $103 billion, an increase of 12.1 percent from $92 billion last year.
