Dayton company buys Columbus business

A longtime Dayton business announced the acquisition of another business and a 10,000-square-foot Columbus location.

Allied Supply Co. has purchased Columbus Automatic Sprayer, 670 E. Fifth Ave. The facility is now Allied Supply’s sixth location.

Allied needed a Columbus location thanks to “continuing growth” in the wholesale heating-ventilation-air conditioning-refrigeration (HVACR) market, said Allied, which is a wholesaler for those parts.

Allied has also added several people to its Columbus team and now has 73 employees total, the company said.

“This full-service Columbus location will allow us to better serve our existing customers that already have a Columbus presence, while also providing us with the opportunity to enter a new market,” Tom Homan, Allied president, said in his company’s announcement.

Columbus Automatic Sprayer also operated as an HVACR wholesaler. “Allied Supply’s purchase of CAS is a great mix of two independent companies,” said CAS owner Tom Hucle. “Based on the reputation of Allied, I had hoped they would choose to come to Columbus.”

Founded in 1935, Dayton-based Allied is a wholesale distributor of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, air filtration and controls.

Allied has six facilities across Ohio and serves the Ohio, Eastern Indiana, Southern Michigan and Northern Kentucky markets.
