Dayton real estate veterans form new brokerage firm

A group of Dayton-area real estate executives and veterans are forming a new brokerage firm, the new company announced Friday.

“We are dedicated to seeing this region thrive, and it makes sense as the Dayton region continues through its own renaissance and transformation, that we do the same,” Aaron Savino, principal of new Apex Commercial Group, said in a release.

Savino, with Steve Peters and Tony Witt, will be principals of the new company.

Savino has served as Miller-Valentine Group’s president of commercial sales and leasing. Peters has been Miller-Valentine’s executive vice president, commercial sales and leasing. Witt has been a director of the Cushman & Wakefield firm.

The three have worked together for years and started talking about collaborating as they realized “how similar they were in ethics and motivation,” the new company said in its announcement.

“Our customers turn to us because they trust us,” Witt said in the statement. “There is no one more practiced than this team in commercial real estate in this region. This is our home. These are our friends, and this is our chance to help define the region.”

The new company will launch with a team of 11, drawing agents from different brokerage houses in the area, “giving Apex a strong competitive advantage and proven expertise in retail, office and industrial properties.”

The group will be based in Centerville at 7887 Washington Park Drive.

Renovations are being completed in the space, and the company will move in Friday, Apex said.

Savino, Witt and Peters will work with Jeff Levine, Mark Dlott, Gerry Smith, Steve Ireland, Amber Wenzler, Wade Elliott, Dave Tobeson and Michelle Campbell.

“The group represents a total of more than 200 available properties in the Dayton vicinity,” Apex said.

Of that group, six, including the three principals, are certified SIORs, for the “Society of Industrial and Office Realtors” — what Apex called “a peer designation of honesty, integrity and thought leadership.”

Just eight so-designated professionals work in the Miami Valley today, Apex said .

The roster also includes one certified CCIM (certified commercial investment member) and one counselor of real estate.

“In many ways, this was an easy decision for us all to come together and structure this business as a place where we can strengthen the industry and empower the next wave of opportunity,” Peters said.
