Dayton-based retail technology company Stratacache has announced the opening of a China customer center in Shanghai for Scala China, part of Stratacache’s family of companies.

The announcement follows the Dayton company’s acquisition and re-branding last year of Scala China. It also follows an announcement in February on the opening of offices in Singapore.

The Shanghai offices house 25 new Scala China employees including additions to the team in professional services, engineering, research and development, sales, marketing and support.

Scala China also maintains a 250,000-square-foot manufacturing and operations center in Ningbo, producing all-in-one intelligent computing and tablet devices, Stratacache said.

The center accelerates and emphasizes the company’s commitment to China, Stratacache said.

“We are continuing collaboration with existing and new customers and partners in this world-class city, enabling rapid innovation and partnership to introduce new products and solutions into the growing Chinese market,” Chris Riegel, Stratacache president and chief executive, said in the company’s announcement.

“Establishing a customer center in Shanghai further strengthens our position as a global leader in digital signage and opens significant new doors in China,” said Manish Kumar, managing director and senior vice president of the Asia-Pacific region for Stratacache.

Increasingly global in reach, Stratacache also announced last June a new India headquarters in Bangalore.
