The seller was 431 E. Third LLC, a limited liability corporation formed by Winfield Scott Gibson, a former developer of Dayton’s Fire Blocks district. The Columbus-based Windsor Cos. took over development of the Fire Blocks last year.

The building is almost directly across the street from The Cannery Loft Apartments at the end of Wayne Avenue. With more than 10,500 square feet of rentable space, the property is listed on Loopnet as a “retail opportunity.”
Woodard Monday morning said he has no immediate plans for the building, but he likes the location and what’s happening the area. The site is not far from The Steam Plant and the Avante-Garde building.
“We’re definitely in the business of re-purposing buildings. We’ll do something with it; we just don’t know what that is,” he said.
Woodard Development is the force behind numerous downtown Dayton projects, including the Water Street office building, the 444 building in Dayton’s Innovation District, the Avant-Garde building, also on Third, the Steam Plant redevelopment and much more.
