Here’s where Total Quality Logistics’ growth is headed next

So far this year, freight brokerage Total Quality Logistics has announced plans to open new sales offices in Miami, Fla.; South Bend, Ind.; and most recently, the sixth Ohio location in Toledo.

Total Quality Logistics now operates or has announced plans for 46 sales office locations in 20 states, according to the Clermont County-based company.

This week's latest announcement for expansion plans to Toledo is living up to expectations President Kerry Byrne gave this news outlet earlier this year. The Tristate's largest privately-held company could open 15 sales offices in the year ahead, including the ones announced to date, which represents larger growth plans than when about 10 new locations were announced or opened in 2015.

Plans are to create 50 to 75 new jobs in Toledo over the next three years, according to Total Quality Logistics.

“Continued growth in Ohio helps us maintain our leadership position in the third-party logistics business,” Byrne said in a written statement.

The firm’s staff negotiate truck loads, rates and destinations between the companies that need products hauled and the truck carriers that deliver goods.

Sales exceed $2 billion a year, and employment nationwide has grown to more than 3,800 employees.
