Millions in area defense contracts announced

The Department of Defense has announced millions in new contract awards to Dayton-area companies.

Among the largest is $3.66 million to G.E. Aviation Systems LLC in Vandalia, as a contract set-aside from the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command for the repair and modification of alternating current generators.

GE Aviation in Vandalia also won a $3.1 million federal contract from the same customer for repair and modification of circuit card assemblies.

And the same GE plant on East National Road also won separate $1.9 million and $1.51 million federal contracts, again from the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command, also for work on alternating current generators.

Projects Unlimited Inc. another Vandalia company, won a $396,588 federal contract from the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command for equipment maintenance and repair.

A West Chester Twp. company in Butler County, Quasonix Inc., won a $305,600 federal contract from the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command for antenna systems. The command is based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

In Miamisburg, Yaro Supply Co. won a $145,230 federal contract from the Defense Logistics Agency for hose reel assemblies.
