Mother-daughter team opening new store at The Greene

A Centerville mother and her daughter are poised to open a retail store at The Greene.

The Oilerie Dayton will offer 28 olive oils and vinegars drawn from stainless steel tanks, as well as pasta, sauces, olives and spices. The 800-square-foot shop is tentatively scheduled to open “quietly” by the end of this week at 4454 Glengarry Drive, and will host a grand opening in the near future, according to Cindy Hoffman, who will operate franchise shop with her daughter Taylor Hoffman.

The Wisconsin-based company — which operates a production facility near Rome, Italy — has eight locations nationwide, including one in Grandview in the Columbus area. And the Dayton-area location came about as the result of a challenge of sorts by The Oilerie founder Curt Campbell.

“My husband and I first visited an Oilerie last year when we were vacationing on Hilton Head,” Hoffman said. “We really liked the store and its products — so much so, that my husband contacted the franchise founder, Curt Campbell via email and suggested to him that he should consider opening a store in Dayton.

“Curt then suggested that we should open a store in Dayton — and here we are one year later.”

In addition to the mother-daughter team, The Oilerie has two other employees and will be adding one or two more part-time positions over the next couple of months, Hoffman said.

The Oilerie is located between Teavana and Gymboree. After it opens, The Oilerie's hours will be Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday noon to 6 p.m. For more information, call (937) 738-4645 or go to www.oilerie.com.
