A grocery chain is hiring for a Kettering store that will be its first location in the Dayton area.
Marc’s, based in Cleveland, is gearing up to open in August at the former home of Kroger at 2136 E. Whipp Road.
The grocery chain, known for its closeouts department, posted a job ad stating it is hiring for all positions and preparing to open in August.
Positions that are available include cashiers, customer service, general stock, produce, deli, meat, and overnight stock.
The Dayton Daily News previously reported that at least 75 full-time and part-time positions will be created at the location.
The city of Kettering gave the grocery chain a $100,000 forgivable loan as an incentive to open the store in the city. Marc’s said at the time that it would spend $2.5 million on improvements to the building.
The store where Marc’s is opening was originally left vacant when Kroger closed one of its locations and opening a new store at the nearby Cornerstone of Centerville development.
