Moraine-based Winsupply Inc. has closed on the purchase of the assets of a Southern California industrial pipe, valves and fittings distributor.

Details of the purchase of ASAP Industrial Supply were not disclosed.

ASAP Industrial Supply will change its name to Inland Empire Windustrial as it becomes part of Winsupply, the Moraine company said in a release Wednesday. Empire will continue to serve industrial contractors.

Jason Johnson becomes president of the acquired company and its purchasing equity in the business under Winsupply’s shared ownership business model, Winsupply also said. In that business model, Winsupply becomes the majority owner of its companies, supporting local entrepreneurs who continue to serve their local customers.

Johnson is a former upper-level executive in the restaurant industry who has been in Winsupply’s training program for prospective local company owners over the past year, the Winsupply announcement said.

“ASAP Industrial Supply has a strong presence in the Inland Empire and this acquisition fills a market need for Winsupply in serving industrial customers from Riverside to Fontana to San Bernardino,” Monte Salsman, president of Winsupply Acquisitions Group, said in the announcement.

Winsupply is a supplier of residential and commercial construction and industrial supplies and equipment headquartered in Moraine. The privately-held company has more than 600 wholesaling locations in 45 states.
