What new stores and features will shoppers notice compared to last year?

We’ve had a number of new stores open this past year including several locally owned and operated shops such as: Puzzles Plus, LaPuf Sweets, Aerolux Blinds & Shades, Deg’s Flame Grilled Chicken and Take A Break. Our Pop-Up Shop located on Glengarry Drive across Sephora features a new and different local shop owner every week through the holidays. Do you have a favorite memory of Christmas at The Greene in the past decade?

Each year, our tree lighting and parade is the highlight of the center. It would be too difficult to choose just one memory from years past. The look of excitement on the children’s faces as Santa steps onto stage is a truly priceless memory. This day exudes family, fun and celebration.

Do you expect shoppers will buy early this year or are stores still expecting large crowds on Black Friday?

Black Friday is a great tradition that will always be popular with shoppers. There is nothing that can replace that experience. We start to see larger crowds the weekend before Thanksgiving and Black Friday during our Greene Saturday and Tree Lighting events. It stays busy after that. There is also the added benefit of the events, dining options and entertainment here at The Greene. When you have all these things going on in one place, it provides for a much more enjoyable experience for the shopper.

This is the first year that online sales are expected to surpass brick-and-mortar sales. How does that impact shopping centers like The Greene?

No one is going to argue that online sales have become a part of the shopping experience but you can’t dine online, take a carriage ride or enjoy any of the other holiday festivities that are associated with this time of year at The Greene. Our goal, regardless of the time of year, is to create a unique and memorable visit for all of our guests.
