704 MAPLECREST DRIVE, TROY

2-level deck, sun porch, gazebo among amenities

From the front, this house appears to be a standard three-bedroom, tri-level, but with an addition to the back and a reworked lower level, the floor plan allows for several options.

Listed for $164,900 by Galbreath Realtors, the brick-and-aluminum home at 704 Maplecrest Drive has about 1,760 square feet of living space. The house is located in an established neighborhood on the edge of Troy and is near a public school. The property has a fenced back yard with garden beds, a storage shed and a two-level island deck with sun porch and gazebo covering, which has been wired for a possible hot tub.

The one-car garage has an updated overhead door and electric opener.

Other recent updates include the roof, which is less than 5 years old, and vinyl windows throughout. Carpeting within the living room and hallways has been updated to a neutral color, and hardwood floors within the bedrooms have been cleaned. Wood-laminate flooring was installed in the kitchen and the lower level.

Through a leaded-glass door, formal entry opens directly into the living room, which has a ceramic-tile entry pad and neutral carpeting. A guest closet is to the left as is the stairwell that leads upstairs to three bedrooms and a full bathroom. All three bedrooms have hardwood floors.

Two bedrooms have sliding-door closets while the smallest bedroom has an oversized, single-door closet. The bathroom has a tub/shower, updated vanity with single sink, and ceramic-tile flooring.

Straight off the living room is the kitchen, which is at the center of the current floor plan. The kitchen has painted cabinetry and updated countertops. Appliances include a range, dishwasher and refrigerator. Access to the garage is off the kitchen, and another door opens to the stairwell to the lower level. The kitchen is large enough for a breakfast table, and a partial wall with an extended countertop could be a breakfast setting as it opens the wall space from the kitchen into the great room.

Stretched across the back of the house is a great room with a cathedral ceiling and several windows that look out over the back yard. A single door opens to paver-stone walkway that leads to the free-standing deck.

Back inside, one wall has a brick fireplace with raised hearth, and is flanked by bookcases and cabinetry. The fireplace is not warranted.

Downstairs, the lower level has an open room that could be a recreation room or a possible fourth bedroom as there are two above-ground windows and a walk-in closet. The room has updated wood-laminate flooring that continues into a full bathroom, which features a step-in shower and small single-sink vanity.

The bathroom provides access to the mechanical systems. A pocket door opens to the laundry room, which has a hanging cabinet and a window.
