Disneyland closed its popular Space Mountain attraction Tuesday after a man jumped off the roller coaster midride.
A California man in his 20s climbed off the ride while it was moving and was guided to safety by employees, according to the Orange County Register. The man was not seriously injured, but was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure, park officials said.
Anaheim police said the man has cognitive disabilities and climbed out of the coaster in the dark during a slower part of the ride, according to KUTV.
Disneyland officials said it’s rare for people to climb off moving rides.
Space Mountain is an indoor roller coaster that takes riders through dark, steep twists and turns.
