'Grease' prequel 'Summer Loving' in the works

"Hopelessly devoted" fans of the musical "Grease" have something to sing about this week.

According to USA Today and CNN, Paramount is working on a prequel to the iconic 1978 film, which starred John Travolta as Danny Zuko and Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson.

The new film, "Summer Loving," reportedly would focus on the summer fling that Danny and Sandy had before the latter showed up at Rydell High School.

Award-winning screenwriter John August, of "Big Fish," is working on the script, the outlets reported.

"As with all projects in development, the prequel may never see the light of day," CNN cautioned.
