Michael B. Jordan reveals what he had to give up for ‘Black Panther’

The upcoming Marvel blockbuster "Black Panther" is highly anticipated, and critics are lauding it as phenomenal in early reviews. For Michael B. Jordan, who plays Erik Killmonger in the movie it was no a walk in the park.

Jordan drank more than a gallon of water daily. "Do you know how often you have to use the bathroom?" he said. "You're trying to sleep; you've got to wake up and use the bathroom. You're like, 'Oh, my God. I'm just going to hold it.' It just doesn't quite work out."

"I would work out two to three times a day, eat six times a day," he said during a Tuesday appearance on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show. "It's hard to go out to a club or a party when you're like, 'Oh wait, meal prep! We gotta go pop this thing in the microwave and eat food.' It's tough to socialize when you've got to get in shape like that."

"Black Panther" will be in theaters Feb. 16, but there's no celebratory break for Jordan. "Creed 2" is already in production, meaning his rigorous regimen is in full swing.

“Soon as I leave here,” he told DeGeneres, “I’m going to the gym.”
