In addition to the whereabouts of the infamous “Wilson Family Puking Turkey Gravy Boat” one of the items discussed at our holiday dinner table was Garth Brooks. Is he about to come out of hiding, unlike the missing gravy boat, or is he just teasing us?

Garth took an extended leave in 2001 to be with his three daughters with ex-wife Sandy Mahl. “It says that Sandy, Trisha (Yearwood, whom he married in 2005) and myself did what we promised each other we would do,” Garth said in a recent Associated Press interview. Now the youngest Brooks daughter, Allie, will graduate high school next spring, so is Garth back? Well, if the cryptic message to his fan club in October was any indication, “The sevens have aligned. It has begun … Thank you for believing … love, g,” it might be pretty obvious.

The singer played his final show last Friday at the Wynn Las Vegas after three-year run on a televised special “Garth Brooks Live From Las Vegas.” The one man show featured him performing his signature tunes and covers of singers who have influenced him over the years. The same day, the 51-year-old Oklahoman released a box set titled “Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences.” The four discs of cover songs encompass all his singer-songwriter influences, as well as two discs of his hits, a DVD of his Vegas performance, and a DVD of his videos. It costs $24.96 and can only be found at Walmart, Sam’s Club and Walmart.com, which means you won’t be able to find the set as a download or stream. “Until they (iTunes) change or I change,” he said, “or some company comes and gives them some competition, then I don’t think you’re ever going to see us on iTunes.”

While Garth has yet to confirm or deny rumors about a comeback tour next year, he did say he and Trisha now have more time on their hands. “Me and Miss Yearwood are free to do whatever it is we want to do,” he said to the AP. “And I’ve got to tell you: Anything I do with that woman, I’m fine with. Any place that I am with that woman is home to me. But if I have my wishes, it’s going to be filled with music, and it’s going to be filled with music at a level I’ve never seen before.”

Last August, Trisha hinted to “CBS This Morning” once their youngest graduates high school, she and Garth plan to hit the road. “It’ll be a whole different ball game, you know, as man and wife to go do this together,” she said at the time. “So I’m looking forward to it.” Now that the stars have aligned, let me know if you find a turkey gravy boat floating among them?
