“VUE Year’s Eve” was the bittersweet final hoorah for the popular Centerville bar and nightclub as they shut their doors for good last weekend. However, they’re not going out without first defending their 2017 Bloody Mary Showdown title.
Last January, Vue Ultra Lounge’s Scott Conrad and Mack’s Tavern’s MacKenzie Manley came to a draw after Dayton’s finest bartenders went head-to-head to decide whose Bloody Mary reigned supreme. This year, both hope to walk away as sole victors.
“While the basic recipe for the Bloody Mary is vodka and tomato juice, there are so many variations to the tastes and people really seem to take pride in the fact that they make the best one,” said Lisa Grigsby, who is putting the event on with Jeff Jackson and their Planned2Give organization.
The Bloody Mary Showdown returns for its third year on Jan. 14, 2018 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum, 1043 S. Main St., Dayton.
The event offers guests the opportunity to explore this classic cocktail and really see what it’s capable of.
Held in the Coliseum at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds for the first time in 2016, the event allowed 200 guests to taste their way through renditions of this classic brunch drink, drinking more than 1,000 samples created by 15 local bartenders.
A $25 ticket to the showdown allows you to taste eight 4-oz. cocktails and one vote for your favorite.
$40 VIP ticketholders will get 12 tastes, 2 votes for their favorite as well as breakfast prepared by Scratch Events. Profits will benefit The First Tee of Greater Miami Valley.
