Austria scores 17 to lead Dayton to seventh straight victory

Flyers are all alone in first place after win at George Mason

Kelley Austria scored 17 points, and the Dayton Flyers won their seventh straight game, beating George Mason 60-48 in Fairfax, Va., on Tuesday.

Dayton (13-7, 7-1) has won 10 of its last 11 games. It took over sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference by a half game over George Washington (13-6, 6-1). George Mason (11-11, 4-5) is in eighth place.

Austria scored 10 points in the first quarter. Dayton led 16-14 after one quarter, 31-24 at halftime and 40-35 after three quarters.

Jenna Burdette scored 10 points. Saicha Grant-Allen and Alex Harris each had 11 rebounds.

Dayton plays host to last-place Rhode Island (4-15, 0-7) at 2 p.m. Saturday. It will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a clinic before the game.
