Kids are getting ready to get back into the swing of the school year. Dayton’s Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is having the perfect event to remind your kids how fun learning can be.
The museum is having another Super Science Saturday with free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18. Admission on Super Science Saturday includes access to special exhibitions, Space Theater Shows and public programming. This time around, Super Science Saturday’s theme is Colorama.
Four times a year, the museum hosts four free admission dates to remain dedicated to “providing Dayton-area residents with science-focused programming and fun for the entire family,” according to a Boonshoft press release. The next Super Science Saturday will be Nov. 17.
Colorama will be all about discovering just how interesting colors can be. Programs and exhibits will dive into why leaves change color before falling, what colors can tell us about chemical reactions and even how different cultures from around the world have been inspired by the colors found in nature.
To fuel everyone’s learning juices, food trucks will be standing by, ready to cater “to the appetites of science and nature lovers at reasonable prices.”
“Kids get a real kick out of the many thought-provoking games and activities presented at Super Science Saturday,” said Boonshoft Museum of Discovery Vice President of Education Dawn Kirchner. “Their young minds become lost in discovery as their natural curiosity guides them from experience to experience.”
The museum will also be accepting school supply donations for Crayons for Classrooms during Super Science Saturday.
