The whole family is invited to a day filled with adventure – even the dog

Indoor and outdoor activities galore are on tap for Family Adventure Day at Washington Township Recreation campus.

The event, which will feature 11 indoor and outdoor activities including a zip line and a rock wall, will be held Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We want everyone to be able to have an adventure, so we’ve worked with our community partners to offer activities for a wide range of ages and abilities,” Kate Trangenstein, event coordinator, said in a press release.

Mike's Indoor Bike Park will present an obstacle course and Buddy Bikes will offer rides on an adaptive tandem-style bike for individuals with different cognitive or physical abilities.

To accommodate a wide range of ages, trained youth care staff will be on hand to entertain children ages three and older while their parents and older siblings explore activities. Children two and younger can enjoy the play space when accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

There will also be a welcoming outdoor space for the family dog this year through a partnership with Wagtown. Pooch parking offers a place to leave the family pup with trained volunteers while participants head inside for activities.

Washington Township Recreation Center is located at 895 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for children 12 and under and free for children two and under. For event details and to order tickets are at www.washingtontwp.org/adventure.
