Top 10 things to do in Dayton this week

1) ALEFEAST

When the 10th AleFeast returns to town on Saturday, March 10, more than 80 beers will be paired with dishes from 18 local food purveyors. The popular event blending craft beer and local cuisine is presented at Dayton Convention Center, 22 E. Fifth St., Dayton, from 4 to 7 p.m.

This year’s food purveyors include Thai 9, Brixx Ice House, Lucky Star Brewery, Canal Street Arcade & Deli and Dorothy Lane Market. Beer offerings will be from more than 30 national and local companies, including Lock 27 Brewing, Eudora Brewery, Hairless Hare Brewery and the Wandering Griffin Brewery & Pub. Music will once again be provided by Nick Mitchell.

2) DAYTON BALLET

Dayton Ballet continues its 2017-2018 season with "Swan Lake" at the Schuster Center, Second and Main streets, Dayton, Friday through Sunday, March 9 through 11. The update features the classic score by composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Dayton Ballet will be joined by the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra for this presentation of "Swan Lake," which features choreography by Septime Webre and a setting in New York high society circa 1912 rather than Europe in the late 1800s. 3) COCKTAILS AT BOONSHOFT

Most of the year, the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, 2600 Dewesse Pkwy., Dayton, is focused on introducing young minds to the wonders of science. However, each winter at this time the space is reserved for an adults-only educational program known as Eureka. "Pick Your Poison" is the theme of this year's installment of Boonshoft Museum of Discovery's one-of-a-kind cocktail party, which runs from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, March 10. Eureka 2018 features programs about the various uses of potions, venoms and other toxins along with heavy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, craft beer and wine and dance music from DJ Dayna. 4) MIKE LOVE

Mike Love grew up on the sandy shores of Hawaii and despite the same name as a certain singer and a penchant for sunny songs, the reggae artist is no Beach Boy. He is an artist in his own right, imbuing his songs with his beliefs as a vegan and spiritual being. Love brings his latest tour to Oddbody's Music Room, 5418 Burkhardt Road, Dayton, at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 10. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cost: $15. AJ Styles will face Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a two-on-one Handicap Match for the WWE Championship. 6) A FEW GOOD MEN

Today, Aaron Sorkin is known for critically acclaimed work like "The West Wing" and "The Social Network." However, he was still a rising playwright when his breakthrough, "A Few Good Men," opened in 1989. He became an in-demand writer after the critical and commercial success of the 1992 big-screen adaptation of the play. Jennifer Lockwood directs a local production of Sorkin's military courtroom tale, which opens at Dayton Playhouse, 1301 E. Siebenthaler Ave., Dayton, on Friday, March 9. 7) LIL DUVAL

Actor-comedian Lil Duval turned 40 last year but that's doesn't mean he's going soft. The Florida native remains as opinionated as ever, gleefully tossing off scathing takes on relationships, sexual orientation, pop culture and more. He is in high demand on stage and on the big and small screens. His credits include television programs such as "Guy Code" and "Ain't That America" and films such as "Scary Movie 5" (2013) and "Meet the Blacks" (2016). 8) ST. PETERSBURG PIANO QUARTET

However, it is a treat for the eyes and ears to behold when the musicians join forces as the St. Petersburg Piano Quartet, which formed in 2014.
