Association that puts ‘art’ in Dayton gets major shout-out from state

The organization at the heart of Dayton’s art is getting major props from the state.

Secretary of State Jon Husted picked the Victoria Theatre Association as one of August's featured businesses for the Ohio Business Profile program.

A representative from Husted's office will present a certificate to the association as  part of the Ohio Business Profile program at noon Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the  Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, 1 W. Second St. in downtown Dayton.

Husted declared August as "Nonprofit Businesses" Month to highlight nonprofits across the state.

The  association owns Victoria Theatre, the Schuster Center and Metropolitan Arts Center, the home of The Loft Theatre. It also owns Citilites restaurant at the Schuster Center and The Arts Garage.

It presents more than 300 Broadway shows, concerts, comedians, films, family shows and performances each year.
