The Combined Agency OVI Task Force and Dayton police will operate the checkpoints.
The task force aims to reduce the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities due to alcohol and drugs. The checkpoints help deter impaired driving and remove unsafe drivers from the road.
The OVI task force is participating in the nation-wide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which runs through Sept. 4.
Multiple OVI checkpoints and saturation patrols are planned to take place in the county, with a focus on areas where previous OVI-related crashes occurred.
