Motorcyclist transported by Careflight after crash in Darke County

DARKE COUNTY- One person was transported by Careflight after a motorcycle struck a vehicle on Younker Road in Darke County.

A red 2000 Chevy Truck, driven by Kevin Dickey, 65, of Ansonia was traveling east on state Route 242 and attempted to turn left on Younker Road. Dickey failed to yield the right of way and traveled into the path of a 1979 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Joshua Barga, 42, of Ansonia, according to a release.

Barga traveled off the right side of the roadway and was ejected from his motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet and was transported via Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

The crash occurred on Friday, July 17 at 7:35 p.m.

Dickey was charged with OVI and failure to yield right of way when turning left. Ansonia Rescue, Versailles Fire, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and Careflight responded to the crash.
