One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another person was taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to Dayton police.
Additional information was not available. The crash remains under investigation.
Dayton police posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Wednesday that officers have responded to two fatal crashes in less than a week.
“We want to remind everyone to watch your speed,” the post read. “Speed was likely a factor in each crash. You should never drink and drive. Use a ride share service, cab or designated driver.”

The post didn’t specify which crashes it was referencing, but said both crashes happened in the early morning.
Around 4:44 a.m. Saturday Dayton police responded to a crash on Shoup Mill Road at Riverton Road after a car crashed into a utility pole.
The driver and a passenger were both transported by medics to the hospital, according to a crash report. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Kovay Pooler of Dayton, was later pronounced dead.
The passenger had minor injuries, according to the report.
