Angry driving blamed in fiery I-75 crash

Two people were seriously injured Monday in a crash involving two angry drivers on Interstate 75 north of Troy.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Piqua Post continues to investigate the crash between a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle.

The crash happened where three lanes merge into two and both drivers are suspected of aggressive driving, according to OSHP Lt. Joseph Gebhart.

The pickup truck driver, from Michigan, made an unsafe lane change and the SUV driver, a 34-year-old from Miamisburg, made an improper passing violation, striking the pickup in the rear, Gebhart said.

The pickup flipped after the collision and caught fire.

Two occupants were taken to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight. Their identities and conditions have not been released.

No one has been cited yet as the patrol continues to interview the people involved.
