5 arrested in Middletown after woman found unresponsive inside home

Middletown police arrested five people for various alleged crimes after officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Moore Street.

After police arrived at 6:30 p.m. March 21, they found Kevin Jackson, who appeared to be nervous, “frantically” putting items into a bag, according to the police report. Then a woman ran out of the residence in the 300 block of Moore and told officers that a woman was unresponsive inside.

Police found five people inside the residence and placed them in the living room, the report said.

Rena Smith, who told officers she owned the house, said there was an unresponsive woman in the kitchen. Police found Jillian Lahrman lying on her back and she had labored breathing, the report said.

Middletown paramedics administered Narcan and Lahrman became responsive, the report said.

While performing a “protective sweep” of the residence, police found what was believed to be a crack cocaine and a crack pipe on a paper plate.

Smith told police she knew there was narcotic activity in the house and she was issued a criminal summons for permitting drug abuse.

Kevin Jackson, at large, was charged with falsification and given a criminal summons for drug abuse instruments.

At Atrium Medical Center, Lahrman told police she had snorted heroin. She was issued a criminal summons for disorderly conduct to wit intoxication/heroin and drug abuse instruments.

The report said more charges may follow.

Also arrested were:

  • Samuel Gunther, of Wilmington, who had warrants through the Hillsboro Police Department for failure to appear/drug case.
  • Robbin Smith, who had a warrant for a contempt of court/disorderly conduct/narcotics charge, the report said.
