Artist carves snowy 'SOS' message near Trump golf course in New Jersey

A performance artist, identified only as Suki by NJ.com, stamped out the phrase "SOS" near President Donald Trump's golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey, the website reported.

The message in the snowy farm field is twofold, Suki told the website. The first is "save our stateship," which is a reference to Trump's position in the White House. The second is "save our spaceship," a reference to taking climate change seriously, NJ.com reported.

The artist has used the field to make political statements before, writing “Resist” in 2017 and the words “Vote and Truth” last fall. She prepared for the SOS message several months ago.

"I laid out the design in October with pole posts and baling string and waited for it to snow," the artist told NJ.com.

Suki said it took her about three hours to stomp the SOS design by foot. Each letter measures 96 feet by 90 feet, and the complete design can only be appreciated fully by viewing it from the air, NJ.com reported.

The artist said the message showcases her belief that the president does not take climate change seriously.

“The president doesn’t want to listen to any experts. He thinks he knows it all,” Suki told the website. “We are at a really really critical time when we have all these reports saying we have 10 years to do something and we’re not, and it’s like, ‘Come on, people.’”
