An Englewood restaurant has been named one of the “Best of the Best Barbecue Restaurants in America" for the eighth consecutive year by the industry trade publication National Barbecue News. And it was the only restaurant in Ohio to make the list.
In fact, Company 7 BBQ at 1001 S. Main St. in Englewood was one of only 28 restaurants in the country to make the magazine’s “Best of the Best” list.
“To be eligible for the Best of the Best Barbecue Restaurant Guide, a restaurant or joint must be taste-tasted, without notice or announcement, by an affiliate of the National Barbecue News,” the magazine says on its web site. “The honor is awarded for a one-year period only if they can pass our taste test. At the end of that 12-month period, each listed restaurant is re-tested in the same manner to see if they can make the grade for the following year.”
The restaurant was first named in 2011.
“We know this would not have been possible without all the tremendous support we have received from our much-appreciated customers,” Company 7 co-founders Bill and Mary Grilliot said in an email to customers. “We view this as YOUR award, too. The award not only thrills us, it humbles us, and rededicates us to even higher standards of BBQ excellence and customer service.”
The same publication three years ago named four of Company 7’s sauces to its “2015 Sauces of Honor” list of best barbecue sauces in the U.S.
