Blood drive planned Friday for Centerville grads

The Community Blood Center will be conducting a blood drive at Centerville High School on Friday in honor of Mitch Haber and Alex Lovett, two 19-year-old Centerville grads involved in a fatal accident last weekend.

Lovett was injured and Haber killed when a car driven by Haber slammed into a tree on Brantford Road at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Lovett remains in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital.

Haber’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, with burial at David’s Cemetery and a reception at David’s United Church of Christ to follow.

The blood drive will take place from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Auxiliary Gym at Centerville High School. Students ages 16 and 17 must have a signed parental consent form, available on site or at www.givingblood.com.

Everyone will need a picture ID and proof of birth, and be well-hydrated and not on an empty stomach.
