Boy, 2, unresponsive in bathtub in Butler County

A 2-year-old boy is receiving intensive care tonight at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center after he was found unresponsive in a bathtub filled with water, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

The child’s parents called 911 around 8 p.m. from their home in the Catalina Manufactured Home Community. Deputies arrived within minutes and began CPR until medics arrived, and the boy was taken by AirCare to the hospital, the sheriff’s office reported. The child’s age was updated to 2 after it was initially reported he was 3.

The incident remains under investigation, and the sheriff’s office is expected to release further information Friday morning.

A young boy found unresponsive in a bathtub tonight was flown to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

The child’s condition is not available, but detectives are investigating the near drowning, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Medics were called just after 8 p.m. to the child’s home in the Catalina Manufactured Home Community, 6501 Germantown Road in Madison Twp. near Middletown.

There were no previous calls to the mobile home for similar incidents, according to the sheriff’s office.
