No arrests, citations at Butler County OVI checkpoint

A Butler County OVI checkpoint along Ohio 4 in Monroe netted no arrests or citations Friday night.

Pete Reising, Butler County OVI Task Force coordinator, said 870 vehicles were checked in front of the Monroe fire station at 6262 Hamilton-Middletown Road (Ohio 4), but no vehicles were diverted for further investigation and resulted in no citations or arrests.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers as well as officers from Monroe and West Chester police conducted the checkpoint from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday in addition to saturation patrols in the area around the checkpoint.

The checkpoints and saturation patrols are part of the task force’s continuing effort to reduce OVI-related crashes resulting in injuries and fatalities.

The Butler County OVI Task Force is funded by U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
