Detached garage in flames at Mad River Twp. home

Emergency crews responded around 6:45 p.m. to the 5300 block of Broadway Road to find the structure fully involved.

The fire was put out by 7 p.m. and no one was injured, Mad River Twp. Fire Chief Tim Wendling said.

Initial investigations indicate the man at the home had a burn pile going too close to the building and the fire spread to the garage, Wendling said.
