Crews extricate 2 people trapped in separate vehicles after Dayton-Springfield Road crash

UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m.:

Two people had to be extricated from their vehicles Wednesday afternoon after a crash on Dayton-Springfield Road east of Interstate 675, according to Mad River Twp. Fire Chief Scott Sells.

Crews from three departments responded around 2 p.m. to the three-vehicle crash in which two people were entrapped in separate vehicles.

“The first vehicle ... there was already bystanders trying to get the individual out, trying to pull the door off,” Sells said. “We used our spreaders and actually peeled the door off and actually extricated the patient that way.”

Bethel Township Fire extricated the second person from a separate vehicle.

The cause of the crash is unknown, but rainy conditions played a factor, Sells said.

The conditions of the four people involved in the crash are unknown as it remains under investigation.

Dayton-Springfield Road was closed for a few hours while crews cleared the crash.
