A Butler County OVI checkpoint Saturday night in Monroe resulted in a pair of OVI arrests.

The OVI checkpoint located on Cincinnati-Dayton Road just north of Todhunter Road checked 499 cars between 7 and 10 p.m., according to Pete Reising, Butler County OVI Task Force coordinator. Three vehicles were diverted for further investigation, which resulted in one OVI (alcohol) arrest and one OVI (drugs).

Monroe police, Butler County Sheriff’s deputies and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers conducted the checkpoint.

The checkpoints and saturation patrols are part of the task force’s continuing effort to reduce OVI-related crashes resulting in injuries and fatalities.

The Butler County OVI Task Force is funded by U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
