Monday's event is not designed as a fund-raiser, but as a memorial/wake, and is coordinated by Mudlick Tap House, Cavalier Distributing and Middle West Spirits, according to Mudlick co-founder Jen Dean. Mudlick Tap House will be making a gift to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton in Giri's memory, and those who knew Giri are invited to do the same, Dean said. Light fare will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.
"Without a doubt, Giri was a Dayton Original and touched so many people throughout our community. His passion resonated throughout our industry and he was always just a phone call away whenever we needed him," organizers of the celebration of life wrote on the event's Facebook page. "Join us in raising a toast to Giri as we celebrate his life through memories, storytelling and good company."
“Giri was a sweet, open-hearted person with a contagious easygoing smile and positive spirit,” a friend wrote on Giri’s Facebook page. “He will be sorely missed by a vast network of friends and colleagues, and countless acquaintances whose lives he touched with kind gestures large and small.”
