The chase began in Azusa and wound through the San Gabriel Valley for about 45 minutes, the television station reported.

Police could not confirm why they were chasing the white Chevrolet Cobalt, KTLA reported. The vehicle did not have license plates, KGO reported.

After exiting an interstate highway, the vehicle swerved through traffic stops and around cars before heading into a residential neighborhood, the television station reported.

The driver eventually stopped and surrendered to authorities. A few minutes later the woman exited the vehicles and surrendered, KGO reported.

As police searched the vehicle they found two young children in the backseat and removed them safely, the television station reported.
