Deputies purchased approximately one gram of suspected meth from Spencer in the parking lot of a laundry mat near the intersection of North Barron Street and Eaton Lewisburg Road in Eaton. Deputies later arrested Gardner as she was the person who arranged the transaction.

On October 3, 2017, both were formally charged in Eaton Municipal court and both face one count of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs.
Spencer and Gardner are currently awaiting arraignment in Eaton Municipal Court.
