Car flees from traffic stop, crashes into fence in Harrison Twp.

UPDATE @ 2 p.m. 

Deputies said a car crashed into a fence after refusing to stop for a deputy who tried to make a traffic stop.

Investigators said a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of Rugby Road and Catalpa Drive for a moving violation. The vehicle sped off from the stop and later crashed into a fence in the 600 block of West Hillcrest Avenue. 

Three people led from the vehicle and were not located. 

Deputies said they did not initiate a pursuit when the vehicle fled from them.

UPDATE @ 1:30 p.m. 

A K9 officer is searching the area of West Hillcrest Avenue and Catalpa Drive after multiple people reportedly fled from a crash. 

Initial reports indicate a vehicle failed to stop for a deputy who attempted to make a traffic stop and crashed into a fence in the 600 block of West Hillcrest Avenue. 

Three people reportedly fled from the vehicle, according to scanner traffic from the scene. 

We have a crew on the scene and we’ll update this page as we learn more.

Police activity has been reported this afternoon in the area of West Hillcrest Avenue and Catalpa Drive, according to initial reports.

Witnesses told this news organization around 1 p.m. that  there are multiple cruisers near that intersection.
