He added a video of the shooting captured by a neighbor’s security camera is helpful in finding the suspects.
“Every case is challenging, but the more witnesses and information we receive, the easier it is to bring the investigation together and make an arrest,” he said.
Witnesses and 911 callers described a fatal shooting in Hamilton on Thursday as a “point blank” shooting that involved two suspects riding up on bicycles.
The victim of the homicide was was identified as Shon Gregory Walker, 19, of Ludlow Street in Hamilton late Friday morning. The Butler County Coroner’s Office said he died of gunshot wounds.
Multiple people called 911 shortly after 9 p.m. to report the shooting, and one also told dispatchers who the young man was as he lay bleeding on the sidewalk.
Crews were called to the 400 block of East Avenue and found Walker. He was beyond medical help at that time, according to police.

“They cornered him and were talking,” said James, who did not want his last name disclosed. “Then they pulled out a gun and shot him point black.”
A female 911 caller said the suspects were on bikes and wearing dark hoodies.
“I just watched two young men on bicycles unload a gun on this young gentleman out here. He is laying on the ground, I don’t know if he is conscious or not,” the caller said.
The homicide is the second of 2019 in Hamilton. On Jan. 26, 18-year-old Londale Harvey was gunned down while getting into his car in the city’s Lindenwald neighborhood. Like Walker’s death, police say Harvey’s slaying was not a random act.
